Friday (Afternoon) Report
my usual roundup, plus sephora sale picks and a very mini travel guide (read: emotional unraveling in wine country)
good afternoon! i’m in Portland right now visiting friends & i’m really excited to hit all of my old hot spots while i’m here, plus a few new ones. i’ve got a little roundup for you down below with what i’ve been reading, eating, playing, obsessing over, recommending and treating myself to.
also!! Sephora Sale starts today, so i threw my picks down below for you all. i am a huge minimalist when it comes to beauty products, so you can trust i’m only recommending what i really love. also also!! i went to Healdsburg a few weekends ago for a girls trip—there’s some photos and a couple recommendations down below, incase you’re ever there.
okay that’s all for today! i’ll be back in your inboxes on Sunday morning with 3 new recipes x
Friday Morning Report

R | When Breath Becomes Air — i avoided reading this book for so long. i was afraid it would be too sad. and it was really, really sad. but after losing a friend to cancer earlier this month i knew it was time. it provided me more perspective on life and how best to live it (hint: without fear!!). i really recommend it, when you’re ready.
E | Dilly Chop — i’ve been making big, protein rich salads every sunday evening and it’s the best meal to start my week with. last week i made the Dilly Chop from Caroline Chambers cookbook. the dressing is absolutely insane.
P | Love on the Spectrum — i love this show so, so much. it’s so beautiful to watch people find love, especially those who are so deserving of it.
O | James St. Co Spring Collection — i feel like i should just put this collection on your radar. if there’s one sweater in life to splurge on, it’s this one. i want it so bad.
R | Barney Bed — i did it. after months of contemplation, i bought the most ridiculously expensive bed for the dog (research!!) and i’m so happy to report that she loves it. i’m not sure if it was worth it tho, tbh - it was just too expensive!! it better last her an entire decade.
T | MNT Studio — if you live in SF and have been looking for a pilates studio with traditional reformers, i’d highly recommend trying out mnt! they have a great 2 week deal going on right now. pilates is a bitttt too expensive for me in general, but i really enjoy this studio.

this isn’t really a travel guide… it’s a breakup recovery plan disguised as a 24-hour escape. my best friend and her boyfriend broke up, so i told her to get her ass to San Francisco so we could promptly leave San Francisco and spiral together in wine country.
nothing bonds two women like laying in bed with andes pillow chocolates, watching The Kardashians on a laptop, and panicking about completely different things. the next morning, after some coffee and light existential dread, all the e-bikes were taken, so we just... went home. it was chaotic, brief, and honestly, kind of perfect.
below are my only two recommendations. and a reminder: not every trip has to be long or meaningful or involve healing. sometimes it’s just croissants and emotional unraveling and that’s more than enough.

The Madrona | a beautiful boutique hotel that feels like stepping into a very tasteful dream. flamingo estate in the bathrooms, a continental breakfast, crispy french fries at happy hour, and an actual art gallery situation happening in the lobby. i’ll be back.
Quail & Condor | the croissants are laminated to perfection. and the cinnamon roll? probably the closest i’ve felt to religion in months.

Yes… Q&C is beyond. Next time… their sister Troubadour for sandwiches that will ruin you for any other sandwich ever. Legit.
Ooo I’m going to be in Healdsburg this weekend. Any winery recs?
