during finals week in college, the only thing that quelled my stress was a chai latte from the cafe on campus. i’m not longer in school, but adulthood can be overwhelming sometimes, so this week i decided to make myself a homemade chai latte.
it’s 6 ingredients, takes only 15 minutes and is such a treat. sweet, spiced, and worth the ritual.
Homemade Chai Latte

ingredients
2 black tea bags
1/4c honey, more or less to taste
4-5 crushed green cardamom pods
1-inch piece fresh ginger, sliced
4-5 black peppercorns, lightly crushed
1 cinnamon stick
1 cup milk
method
grind 4-5 cardamom pods, 4-5 peppercorns, and 1 cinnamon stick in a mortar and pestle (or crush with a pan).

in a pot, caramelize 1/4 cup honey over medium heat until golden and fragrant. carefully add water to stop the cooking, then stir in the crushed spices and 1-inch sliced ginger.

bring to a boil, add 2 black tea bags, and simmer for 5 minutes.
pour in 1 cup milk, reduce the heat, and simmer for another 10 minutes. strain into mugs and serve warm.

want to make it dirty? add a few shots of espresso on top!
Sounds great will definitely try this simple recipe
So excited to give this a try
