Nature's Gatorade
an all-natural hydration drink that won't keep you thirsty, but will keep you happy.
i’m an electrolyte hoe. personally a huuuge fan of LMNT. that being said, there are days when i want to feel like a hippie-nymph-fairy-girlie and just make something from scratch. i am also a huge proponent of treat culture. so, there you have it, a mocktail born out of my need to make something and have a little treat. i hope you love it as much as i do!
ingredients//
3oz ginger knobs (about 1 medium sized ginger root)
1-2tbsp honey
10oz filtered water
4oz coconut water
1/4 cucumber, sliced
3oz pure aloe vera juice (optional!!)
2oz lime juice
1oz fresh orange juice (from 1/2 orange)
1/4-1/2tsp salt, to taste
fresh mint, to garnish (optional… i forgot, lol!)
method//
add your ginger and water to a saucepan over medium high heat. once the water is warm, add your honey. bring to a simmer and stir until honey is dissolved. let it simmer on the low setting of your stove for about 10 minutes. strain. to a large mason jar, add ginger/honey water, coconut water, aloe vera juice (optional), lime juice, orange juice, cucumbers and salt. add ice and mix. you can garnish with mint if you want! enjoy
