Happy Masters Weekend. the boys are entering their won’t acknowledge your existence until Sunday night era. they will be on the couch by 9am. they will be checking their phones like their life depends on it. they will be yelling at golfers they’ve never met like it’s their full time job.

so here’s a non-alcoholic Azalea — aka the official Masters cocktail made cuter and alcohol free — because you deserve something prettier than a light beer while you sit through 7 hours of golf commentary.
i kind of (not really) got into golf after watching Full Swing on Netflix. i hardly know the difference between a bogey and a birdie but that has never stopped me from getting wildly competitive with my Masters bracket. i hate to say it but you absolutely will catch me losing my mind when Rory inevitably lets me down — and yes, i will continue to put my faith in him year after year.
this drink also has a wholesome little backstory — my neighbor (big golf guy, currently not drinking) asked if i could come up with a NA version of the Azalea for the weekend. so here we are. ready to survive (thrive?) through 48 (72?) hours of golf coverage. cheers!
Non-Alcoholic Azalea
ingredients
homemade lemonade
5-6 lemons, juiced
1/4 cup maple syrup (add more to taste)
3 cups cold water
for the mocktail/cocktail (makes 1)
1.5 oz NA spirit (i like something citrusy) — or vodka if you're drinking
1 oz grenadine
6 oz homemade lemonade
ice cubes
sparkling water, to top
orange slice + cherry, for garnish
method
make the lemonade: whisk everything together until the maple syrup dissolves. taste and adjust — you want it bright and tart but drinkable on its own.
make the drink: add grenadine and NA spirit to the bottom of a tall glass. fill the glass with ice. pour in your homemade lemonade, then top with sparkling water. garnish with an orange slice and a cherry.
ENJOYYYYY!
Hi! Thanks for this! Cutting down on alcohol so this is brilliant!
I’d like to advocate for the Masters to be ✨for the girls too✨ as plenty of women love golf as much as the men do!
