Postcards from / Glacier National Park
a list of the hikes we went on, my camping essentials, and a delicious campfire recipe!
i didn’t grow up camping. up until my mid twenties, my idea of sleeping in a tent consisted of a 10-11pm nap in my neighbor’s backyard and a sleepy walk back into her house, straight out the front door, and right back into my house to sleep in my own bed. when i asked my parents why they never took us camping as kids, my dad said: “why would i come to this country to sleep on the floor” and my mom said “we’re Jewish.”

i don’t blame my parents for not taking us camping. it’s a lot of work and being exposed to the outdoors can feel wildly uncomfortable. it can also be the most lovely, freeing, and rejuvenating experience.

last week we explored Glacier National Park and i swear i was in awe for 4 days straight; the entire length of the park is a breathtaking tapestry of natural beauty. crystal-clear glacial lakes shimmer in shades of turquoise, their vibrant hues contrasting against the pure white snow that still clings to the higher elevations. the mountains nestle into each other, creating a powerful landscape that feels both intimate and expansive. Glacier National Park is a place where every moment feels like a glimpse into a timeless, untouched world.
this guide will consist of three sections:
a mini guide to Glacier: hikes we went on, campgrounds we stayed at, what to know before you go
my camping essentials: everything from the tent i sleep in to my favorite cookware
my favorite camping recipe: a salmon dish that you can make over the fire!
