Postcards from: Paris & The Basque Country
everything i ate in Paris, Southwest France, and San Sebastian!
this was a last-minute trip to the Basque Country. a region we knew next to nothing about, and now can’t stop talking about. it’s not a typical European destination for most Americans, which makes it even more special. also wildly underrated, especially if you're someone who plans your itinerary around what you're eating (hi).

as with all of my “travel guides,” this is not a comprehensive guide to the Basque Country. i won’t pretend to be all-encompassing after just a few days somewhere. think of this more as a roundup… where we stayed, a few things we did, but mostly: what we ate. the standouts. the stuff i’m still dreaming about. i personally tend to travel with food as my main compass. i think it’s one of the most intimate ways to get to know a place. before every trip, i’m saving spots and scribbling notes into google maps so that once i arrive, all i have to do is pop it open and find my next (great) meal.

i also want to acknowledge something i’ve been thinking about a lot lately, which is my desire to keep parts of my personal life private while still sharing inspiration and information. when i travel, i always turn to people i follow and trust for reccs, so this is my way of paying that forward, while still trying to keep special moments for me.
when it comes to France,
is my go-to. i pay for his monthly newsletter and honestly, it’s worth every penny. he is a true icon and has a large list of food recommendations throughout the city. and shoutout to for making sure i didn’t miss a single pintxos spot in San Sebastián. to all of our other friends who sent recommendations, thank you!!!

okay, let’s get into it. below is a complete list of where we ate and what stood out in Paris, Southwest France (Biarritz, Bidart, Guéthary, Bayonne, Saint Jean De Luz) and San Sebastián, Spain. plus (!!!!) every bolded name clicks through to the google maps link so you can save it to your own map. as always, if you’ve got questions about anything i mention, drop them in the comments and i’ll help however i can!
