hi friends! happy friday! i know it’s been a bit. i just got back from Europe this week. it was kind of a last-minute thing, planned on a short timeframe, which honestly felt perfect. no big expectations, just going, seeing, eating (a lottt of eating…), wandering, and even a little surfing (lmao).

on my plane flight home i thought about how i want to spend the rest of the summer, and came to the conclusion that i want fewer plans, less pressure to make everything mean something, and to just really embracing the living part of life.
it was hard to leave Frankie for 10 days (the longest i've ever been away from her!) but it felt important to carve out time for ourselves, too. so grateful for it all.

i’ll be putting together a little travel guide and releasing it soon if you’re curious about where we went and what we loved. i honestly think some of the places we went are incredibly underrated. talk soon x
Friday Morning Report

R | NOTHING, HELP! — the only reading i’ve been doing lately is reading menus. i’m just having the toughest time reading this year and while i’m trying to accept the ebb, i also miss it and am looking for a few books to get me back into my groove. please send any and all recommendations in the comments!
E | Le Maison Bordier Butter — this butter is my everything. i brought 4 packs home in a vacuum sealed bag from paris and i guess Frankie has great taste too because she stole a stick off the counter yesterday…….
P | Tour De France Doc — i truly don’t know what it is about sports documentaries that just make me feel so calm. i personally love watching these guys test their physical strength to the absolute limit. plus, the Tour De France 2025 is currently happening which makes it so fun to flip back and forth btwn the two!
O | Mejuri Ring — i am always getting asked about the chunky ring on my middle finger and i don’t know if i’ve ever shared it? i’ve had it for 3 years, have never taken it off, love it so much, and honestly just love so much of what Mejuri makes. this exact style isn’t made anymore, but i linked the closest one!
R | Packing Cubes — a total game-changer for travel prep. they keep everything organized, compact, and wrinkle-free and truly save space if you’re doing carry on only, like me.
T | Mano Mani Plates — hand-thrown ceramic plates from a small French artisan. each one is unique and adds so much charm to my daily meals. you can read the whole story about how i found them here!
Recipe Roundup
i’ve released some really fun recipes for you all lately! below are a few of my favorites.
Seared Salmon Jacket Potato
this recipe is the second in my new series Dinner For One, where we romanticize cooking for yourself and no one but yourself. this recipe is as low-effort as it is high-reward: crispy-skinned salmon rubbed with a chili powder blend, perched on a baked potato atop a green goddess yogurt sauce. most of the time, you’re just letting things cook. hands-on time cook time is
Hot Dog Toppings, 3 ways
the biggest crime you can commit during the summer season is hosting a BBQ and not providing guests with a variety of hot dog toppings. a few months ago i attended a BBQ and decided that instead of showing up with a sad pack of buns or the world’s 8th bowl of pasta salad, i would make a fun little topping for everyone’s dogs.
Deli Container Mocktails, two ways
i’ve been alcohol-free for four summers now, and this might be my favorite party hack. deli container mocktails are an easy, low-lift drink idea. they’re fun to sip and made all in one container so there’s hardly any mess and you can make multiple at a time. and they’re endlessly customizable, too. for friends who are drinking, you can add a splash of vodka, tequila, or gin to the mix. everyone gets a drink, no one feels left out. my kinda party! enjoyyyy.
Grilled Halloumi Grain Bowl
this bowl was made with movement in mind. it holds up so nice in the fridge (3–4 days easy) and gets better as it sits. the grilled halloumi is the star. caramelized from a little grill (a cast iron pan works!!) and marinated in the most delicious combo that eventually becomes your salad dressing.
Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins Reid and The Compound by Aisling Rawle just got me out of a reading slump!!
Hold Still, you’ll find it hard to put down. A memoir by Sally Mann. She has quite the story: Murder, suicide, family. She writes beautifully and tells her story candidly. Love it that she curses.
