this isn’t exactly my most glamorous start to the year. it’s a bizarre feeling—being the most present i’ve ever been while simultaneously drowning in overwhelm. i don’t really have time to get upset about tiktok being banned or time to do my hair, and whenever i get a wave of inspiration and energy at work it’s like the most exhausting thing that’s ever happened to me and i can’t even act on it. probably because every night when Frankie shifts in her crate to scratch an itch, i lay awake in bed and spiral into thinking she’s dying of parvo (which, by the way, isn’t even possible anymore).
but here’s what i know: food is my gateway to practicing what i preach. somewhere in ayurvedic wisdom, there’s probably a rule about warm foods equaling calm energy, and honestly, i believe it. the more warming foods i make, the slower i move, the deeper i breathe, the more i trick myself into thinking i’m relaxed. is it science? probably not. if it is, the sample size is basically me. but i will say, after making this week’s recipes, i felt a surprising sense of peace.
and not that it matters, but there’s something fucking satisfying about turning leftovers into bone broth… in 90 !! minutes!! i’m using kitchen scraps like i’m some kind of homesteading goddess, and if that doesn’t scream “i have my life together,” i don’t know what does.
this week’s recipes are just that: warming, grounding, and perfect for fooling yourself into feeling like you’re on top of it all—even if you’re not. and if you are? well, congrats! that’s cute 4 u <3
What I’m Making This Week !!
(full recipes, step-by-step pictures, and grocery lists included)

Instant Pot Bone Broth
bone broth is liquid gold. there is something so satisfying about turning leftovers into homemade broth. here is the recipe for chicken thigh bone broth (you DON'T need a whole chicken!!) + the sheet pan dinner recipe that will help you gather all of the ingredients.
Spiced Citrus Hot Toddy
the most warming mocktail this season. i batched it and keep it in my fridge and warm it up at night before bed. we are all sleeping on rooibos tea!
Homemade Chai Latte
during finals week in college, the only thing that quelled my stress was a chai latte from the cafe on campus. i’m not longer in school, but adulthood can be overwhelming sometimes, so this week i decided to make myself a homemade chai latte.
Ghia Golden Hour Spritz
the perfect Dry January spritz to make it feel like an italian summer in the middle of winter. this is a BONUS recipe that will be paywalled until the collab drops on instagram.
I am so inspired by all of these recipes and can’t wait to make each one- thanks for sharing 😊 Just curious- where do you like to get your meat & produce? I also live in SF and am looking to find local spots as an alternative option to the grocery store. Thanks!
Agree 100 that making broth (esp from scraps) does make me feel like I have my life together. Also this is the week of my mid 40s where my eyesight gave out and i thought* I was waiting all day to read about Pat Boone broth. 🤓
