hi everyone! i feel like this week kind of flew by which i am not mad about because we’re headed back to Sea Ranch this weekend!! i live for a northern california coastline with very little cell service. anywayyy, below is the usual report plus a roundup of 13 recipes that i think would be perfect for an Easter brunch. sending love! x
Friday Morning Report

R | Show Don’t Tell by Curtis Sittenfeld — this book was picked by a member of my book club, so i had no idea what to expect going in… i think i’d give it a 3/5. it held my attention and was a great before-bed-read, but i hated the ending to almost every story.
E | Vanilla Bean Cake — it’s Thom’s mom’s birthday this weekend and she requested a vanilla cake with whipped cream and strawberries (the best). i remember seeing this cake online and have been looking for an excuse to make it. will let you know how it goes!
P | The Handmaid’s Tale — it’s baaaack. and in its final season! excited to see what happens and i stg if June doesn’t reunite with Hannah i’ll lose my miiiiind.
O | Frankie — no link, just obsessed with my dog. she turned 8 months old yesterday!
R | VI02 Mouth Tape — i know it’s highly debated but i love sleeping with mouth tape. i don’t know why i ever stopped! i truly wake up feeling so much more rested. i love this brand because it doesn’t fully cover your mouth so there’s little pockets to breathe out of.
T | Hotel Ceramics Mug — i finally made it onto the early access list (just subscribe to
and you can too) and bought myself a mug!!!! it was literally the only color left in stock but i love her and she’s beautiful. What To Make For Easter Brunch
i’m Jewish so i don’t really celebrate Easter but i do appreciate a Sunday gathering that happens in the late morning and ends by 3pm. so, here are some ideas for what i think you should make for Easter Brunch:
drinks

verdita mocktail | a green juice in mocktail form. tequila can be added.
espresso frizzante | i think this is one of the cooler coffee drinks you can make for people you’re hosting!
spiced citrus hot toddy | can be made alcoholic or non-alcoholic and is the perfect warm, colorful drink to enjoy with a lil brunch food.
honey & tahini latte | easiest way to get the party started is with a hot pot of coffee and a really good steamed milk combo to top off everyone’s mug with.
sweets

high-protein banana nut muffins | nothing cuter than showing up to your MIL’s house with a basket of fresh muffins. these are my current favorite.
cardamom & orange cinnamon rolls | i could have one every morning for the rest of my life.
lemon pistachio cookies | to this day, my dad and thom swear these are the best cookies i have ever made.
salads

crunchy cabbage spring salad | this salad makes so many servings, so it’s perfect when you’re hosting or if you need to bring a dish to someone’s house. i’ve gotten a lot of messages recently that y’all are loving this.
chopped farro salad with chickpeas & green apple | another huge salad that is a perfect side dish for an easter spread
for the table

pizza dipping oil | throw it on the table for when people arrive or in the middle of your charcuterie board. this shit is addicting though so make double.
roasted brussels sprouts with honey blue cheese vinaigrette | this is my most popular recipe for a reason. because it’s spring, i’d swap out the pomegranates with dried cranberries or purple grapes!
pear & prosciutto crostini | a perfect appetizer. it’s not pear season yet, so swap out the pear for green apple!
danish morning buns | if you have a sourdough starter and want to impress every single guest, make these.
not quite as elegant as your espresso frizzante, but espresso with fizzy water is such an elite beverage. there's a coffee shop in my neighborhood that has a fizzy water tap so I always get plain espresso and add the water -- the baristas are always confused by my order.
